I live close to the new construction site in Belle Haven. I receive a flyer about the new pool heat pumps noise being 24 hours a day. You have already reduced the quality of my health with all the pollution from the construction and now non-stop noise pollution. According to the flyer, the experts in the city did everything, but there is nothing it can be done. I am not an engineer, but why does the heater has to be on 24 hours a day? Who is swimming at night? Why does the heaters in Arrillaga pool do not make any noise? If I had to take a guess, the difference is people of color live in Belle Haven and White people live in Arrillaga. You already are trying to erase our history by changing the name of our community center. There is always the promise the new building will bring new services improving my community, but services have been delivered when we (people of color) cannot use it (work hours) and prices most of us cannot afford. How are you going to protect us? Are you going to soundproof our homes? Are you going to do reparations for the lost in health, quality of life, and property value? We also pay taxes to cover your salaries.
