Dear Mayor Wolosin and City Council Members:
Im writing to encourage the City to consider simplifying and streamlining solar permitting.
Through a new state law (SB379), the state is offering grants of about $40,000 per city to help with the implementation. The grant application deadline is May 1, and the money is first-come, first served.
It is first and foremost absolutely crucial that we equitably transition off of fossil fuel fired appliances, and as we electrify our homes and buildings, I understand that there is an opportunity for synergy between solar and electrification. I encourage the City to look into and pursue this opportunity if it can help us meet the Climate Action Plan goals.
