To our Mayor, Vice Mayor, City Councilmembers and city staff,

As the Chair of Menlo Parks Environmental Quality Commission I am writing in support of two items on your agenda for this Tuesday: H6 and J1.

H6 - Please approve the updated Roles and Responsibilities for the EQC. This new description was developed by the EQC last fall and was shared by our previous Chair, Tom Kabat, with the City Council earlier this year. We believe this description more accurately represents the work the EQC is engaged in. We look forward to your approval and having the city website updated so that the public knows about the issues we are looking at so they can get involved through public comment at our meetings and/or apply for future commission openings.

J1 - At our EQC meeting last week we received the Annual Arborist Report and voted to affirm support for the CIP funding of $250k for an Urban Forest Master Plan (line item 211 Heritage Trees). We believe this is an important document that can guide the city for decades to come. Thank you for your support of our urban forest.
