Dear City Council,
regards: Menlo Park needs parking lots for parking
Recently I heard that the parking plazas 1, 2, and 3 were being considered for housing.
Our little city relies on the downtown businesses for meeting our needs: running to our convenient hardware store, getting pet supplies at Bow Wow, coffee at Starbucks, lunch get togethers or dinners, drugstore, groceries, doctor appointments, hair salons, etc. It is even hard to find parking at times as it is now. Please don’t take our parking lots.
This would RUIN our town. I’ve lived here for over 30 years and I’ve watched so much change and I’m one who likes to look on the good side of change and I’ve learned to adapt. BUT- This idea appalls me. We love our village feel and choose to live here because of that. I think most citizens are not even aware of this thought. I use the word thought because I can’t believe that it would even be considered as a possibility.
Am I right that your job as city council is to look out for the needs of our community - please do that in rejecting the idea of taking our parking lots. This would kill downtown vibrancy.
