Honorable Menlo Park City Council,
I support building new affordable homes downtown and I urge you to do the same on January 14th.
I think low-income housing is critical for those members of Menlo Park’s workforce that must currently commute long distances because they cannot afford to live near their work. I also think downtown needs a major boost to get empty storefronts filled with
useful shops and cafes that would appeal to more people than those wanting high-end design firms … or rugs! A revitalized downtown would be great for all of us, as long as parking can be made available as well. I am 82 and cannot be walking long distances
to get my hair cut or shop at hardware or drug stores, etc. Housing and appropriate parking have to go hand-in-hand!
Please vote "yes" to new affordable homes downtown on January 14th.
