Dear City Council and Senior Staff,

On Thursday, March 13 (7-9 pm), the Town of Atherton is holding a Town-wide Community Forum on the topic of wildfire preparedness. Atherton Police and the Menlo Park Fire Protection District will be present. The description and location is listed below my email.

Earlier today, I remotely attended todays Menlo Fire Emergency Preparedness Committee where I heard Chief Lorenzen state that the Fire District would be happy to hold these kinds of forums in Menlo Park, EPA and their other response areas. The Chief said this meeting came about mainly due to the efforts of an Atherton Town Council member.

Menlo Park has areas bordering moderate fire danger zones. What happened in Maui could also happen here. We have an opportunity to do more to reduce danger from wildfires and embers coming our way. I think this type of meeting would be very useful in the Sharon Heights area, and elsewhere. Please let me know how I might be of help. I plan to attend the meeting and some of you might want to too.
