Hello City Council,
I just want to continue to express my support and urge the Council to explore and evaluate other options that exist in Menlo Park including the Civic Center parking lots and Civic Center Area. It is so surprising that many other areas were not considered in the Housing Element that seem to be a much better fit to fulfill our housing element requirements. I would recommend that other areas besides the downtown parking lots be included in an additional RFQ and we dont slam the door shut on other options.
I realize this is a very complex topic. But something this complex deserves a lot more input and evaluation from the citizens of Menlo Park. I urge this new Council to evaluate the thoughtful and creative ideas presented in the document that the group behind Save Downtown Menlo put together for housing. We need to look at these ideas and I respectfully please ask you all to amend the Housing Element to evaluate these other ideas/locations.
