You can also email the citycouncil (city.council@menlopark.gov) in advance of any meeting and it goes into the MP public record and is attached to the minutes. I found that most of the city council members read and respond to the emails that Ive written in this fashion. My hope is that this approach may frame their opinion going into the meeting in which they are presented with many views simultaneously. I also then speak at the meeting via Zoom.
Hope this helps and shares more ways for everyone to engage if desired,
Kenneth

You can livestream all city council meetings from the convenience of your own home, and you can call-in your comments. You do not need to be physically present to comment to the council. This is also true for the planning commission meetings.

Ditto on all and I apologize for not being as proactive/involved in the more recent conversation leading up to this letter. My house is next door to the amazing Sue Connelly but I have been living out of town in Los Angeles for several years.
I have been following the communications regarding Parkline, and early on I had a few conversations with one of their representatives, but have not been able to fly in for any meetings. As soon as I can wholly revisit and be sure I am studying the most recent version of the Parkline plans, I would like to follow up with another letter more specifically addressing the intended access to the Parkline community via Burgess Street. Given the plans for the location of a multilevel parking garage to be located behind our homes on Burgess, the amount of traffic - and disturbance from that alone - will be multifold.
I welcome anyone’s comments.
Thank you,
Judith Asher

Geoff,
Thank you to you, Peter, Sue, Alex and Anja for working so diligently to compose this letter and send it to the City Council and Planning Commission. Our collective and individual voices are extremely important.
I ran into Mark Murray the other day and asked him about upcoming plans Parkline will be presenting to the city. He said one will include 800 units, four-story residential buildings along Laurel with taller residential buildings along Ravenswood, the townhouses, and keep the one-acre donated parcel in the area by the church. He stressed the importance of individuals showing up at the city meetings to voice their support/concerns.
Hopefully the neighborhood can rally, along with fellow MP residents, and speak-up or call-in with their comments when Parkline makes their next presentation.
Thanks again for your leadership,
Gail

Dear Burgess Classics Residents and Friends,
I wanted to share with you a letter I just sent on behalf of our HOA to the City Council and Planning Commission outlining our concerns and suggestions for the Parkline project (the proposed re-development of the SRI campus). Many thanks to the group who helped draft and revise the letter, especially Peter Chao, Sue Connelly, Alex Ho, and Anja Brau. Im sure there are a wide range of views among members of the neighborhood, so we may not have captured everything you all might have liked to say, but I hope we succeeded in articulating a few key points most would agree with. Our goal was to offer compelling and constructive arguments for limiting the density and traffic impacts on Laurel Street and immediately adjacent to our homes.
There are some key upcoming review milestones for the Parkline project this year, and the more the City hears from us the better. So please feel free to write your own letters echoing, augmenting, or re-framing our messages.
Best,
Geoff Blanford
