Dear City Council Members,
First off, thank you for your dedication and service to our city.
We are among the residents eager to maintain the trees and open space
surrounding Sharon Park. We’ve lived in Menlo Park 31 years and are grateful to live here.
During the height of the pandemic we were astounded to see literally dozens of
people enjoying their daily walks and multiple family/friend gatherings every day
and every weekend. In the 11 years we’ve been up in the SH area we had never seen
that many people in the park and we were thrilled to see that many families, most of
whom do not have yards or much space, were able to access the park/pond for their peace
of mind and enjoyment.
We were long time residents on Valparaiso and watched the ebb and flow on El Camino closely.
It is terrific to see the buildings finally coming to pass and near transportation and stores far more
convenient for seniors and others. We understand the need for affordable housing and support same
and know it’s a struggle for all of you and us, as residents, to figure this out.
