Hello, I am really in favor of what you've done downtown to close off Santa Cruz to traffic for dining and social distancing purposes. Thank you for that! I feel much safer having the space to walk around with the street closed and have enjoyed some of the outdoor dining options. It's been really nice. I was following a post on NextDoor from this weekend about Santa Cruz being open (it's since been removed) and noticed some people weren't thrilled with the new parking situation, particularly when picking up from stores that no longer have parking available on Santa Cruz Ave. I haven't had any issues at all but I wanted to offer a possible easy (I think...) solution that I saw at Town and Country shopping center. They have designated parking spots with signs throughout the whole shopping center for 15 minutes curbside pickup only. Most of these spots are directly in front of store entrances (1-2 per store or so). This could be a good solution for parking spots in the lots behind stores/restaurants so people just stopping by to pick something up have more of a chance at getting a spot (since some find it a problem due to closing the street). Thanks for all you are doing to support local businesses and keep the community safe. We appreciate it! Sincerely, Erika Caruso Received on Mon Jul 20 2020 - 23:51:27 PDT
