menlo park proposal to eliminate parking on both sides of Middle Ave.
I a, completely against this item as I live on Middle ave, need access to my house for service people, gardeners, housekeepers, painters, etc. as they need to unload equipment for work at my house.
The larger issue isn’t that the streets are unsafe, it is that the drivers are speeding, reckless and there is little to no traffic enforcement. I have personally witnessed 7 near collisions between cars and bicycles lately. Most of the time it is due to reckless driving.
Spend funds on traffic enforcement and bicycle safety. It’s time to focus on compliance with traffic laws for everyone’s safety.
Eliminating parking on both sides of Middle Avenue won’t address the underlying issues and will be far more inconvenient for residents.
