Dear Council Members,
I’m writing to address a long overdue conversation regarding the lack of tree macitence in Menlo Park. Everywhere I look, I see city trees, often Oak Trees, that are partially dead yet not trimmed or removed. Some of these trees are on private property, but permission is not granted to the city to remove problematic/diseased Oak Trees. My neighbors and I have fought this battle many years ago. One neighbor was repeatedly denied and the result was that the tree spilt and fell, causing damage to his home, fence and a power outage.
Please use the fallout from this past storm and extended power outage (mine was three days and I lost all of my food at my cost) and put the crucial time and money into removing and heavily trimming the city’s trees.
Thank you,
Christie
