Hi Council Members,
It is my understanding that you will be revisiting the street closures and parklet issue this week. I feel strongly that the street should be reopened to traffic and parking, which would be to the benefit of all businesses and residents as well. While I support restaurants having parklets the street should be open to help businesses that are hurt by the loss of parking and loss of easy access. The gathering of kids after school in front of Starbucks and on the closed portion of the street has led to harassment of customers and staff and is not serving the community in a healthy manner. No reason that restaurants cant operate properly structured parklets and have the street open allowing people to park and access the businesses on the street more easily.
