Hi Menlo Park City Council,
I am writing to urge you to create a Task force for lineage based Reparations in Menlo Park. Currently other cities are owning up to their original sin and racist history by creating their own Reparations Task Force.
The State of California also has their own State Reparations task force created when Governor Newsom signed into law AB3121. There is a published report and executive summary that list all the harms Black Americans faced since 1851.
I urge the Menlo Park City Council to work with a sense or urgency to get their Repartions task force created to address the harms Black Americans have faced here in Menlo Park. With Menlo Park’s long history of redlining and other racist practices I’m
just wondering where has anyone apologized or address those issues?
Also if you decide not to create a reparations task force, please explain to me why the racism Black
Americans continue to face in Menlo Park is ok with the council?
