My name is Erika, and Im with Youth Leadership Institute, and our organization is a member of the San Mateo County Tobacco Education Coalition.
We want to thank the council for your consideration of protecting residents who live in multi-unit housing from secondhand smoke. As part of our work, we are listening to the concerns of community members about equitable enforcement policies and we are focused on a "housing-first" approach. We will be doing outreach to listen to residents concerns and provide an opportunity to answer questions about how a smoke-free multi-unit housing ordinance could work. We will continue to update the council on our progress and we look forward to engaging with the Menlo Park community.
