Dear City Council Members,
I have been using the curbside service at the library to retrieve my books on hold, and I am thankful to be able to do that.
I was wondering why there are not more options available to go inside on a reservation system, like Pools do, to browse books and check them out. The Ymca is offering group exercise on their parking lots, and has moved heavy machines outside.
In that little outdoor holds pick up area, there could be books on little carts maybe, such as the ones used for the holds, for people to be able to browse. Some of the books for sale could also be outside.
We all check-out our shopping cart at self-serve stations at Wallmart or Home Depot. At trader joes, we see every single cart being cleaned after single use. We all swipe and sign our cards when we shop. All stores and restaurants manage social distancing.
I am in favor of libraries offering more curb-side services.
