Hi Menlo Park City Council -
My husband Brett and I are long time Menlo Park residents (over 23 years).
We live at 745 Olive Street between Middle and Santa Cruz.
We wanted to write in support of reducing the speed limit from 30 to 25 MPH.
Given the street is a bit busy, cars tend to speed by and the big numbers of children and people walking with their families and pets on our street, we continually worry about the safety of our families, neighbors etc. We used to live on Sherman and as you may know, Sherman was originally a “cut through” street where people often sped, a child was killed and then the city took several precautions that successfully both slowed traffic down and reduced traffic. We hope that we can take similar precautions on Olive BEFORE a tragedy occurs.
