I am a Palo Alto resident but my preferred hardware store (and that of some of my neighbors that I sometimes see there ) is Menlo Hardware. I always park in one of the two parking lots scheduled for removal, and also park there when I need to go to CVS. I am an older driver and I hate parking decks and will change my habits if your planned construction goes through. Traffic in that area is busy, but the parking areas are relaxed and beckoning.
Your choice, but also mine. Same for my wife.
