Dear Menlo Park City Council:
I would like to write to you in support of affordable high density housing in Menlo Park.
I am agnostic about where the housing needs to be located, but I totally support doing our part in providing affordable high density housing in Menlo Park. We need to take care of members of our community - the teachers, the service workers, the nurses, the firefighters who serve us. And we need to do our share to take care of low income and homeless residents. I see the huge underground parking at Springline development on El Camino, so I trust you will have good planning for parking.
I would also like to help you lower the temperature of the discussion - in the midst of social inequalities and climate disasters, we really need to pull our community together and not be fighting each other at fever pitch.
I really empathize with your position that we need change, and change is difficult for a lot of people. Thank you for guiding us forward.
