Dear City Council,
I have lived in and around Menlo Park since 1981, and would like to see the long idle Menlo Park Art Commissionre-established,
along with providing a one percent (1.0%) program for major development. This type of program is found in numerous cities around
the country. These successful, ongoing public art programs are bringing art out of bidding in private settings and into the public
space, adding culture to the fabric of life.
The City of Menlo Park has the opportunity to make the Arts more available in our everyday lives; the tide of such a program for
the City would lift all boats. Culture is so important for our community, and beyond. Let’s make it happen!
