Dear City Council Members,
Thank you again for all of the thoughtful work you do on behalf of our city. Your public service is greatly appreciated.
As you look to set the 2018 Council Work Plan I urge you to continue to prioritize a city wide safe routes plan. Primarily, continuing the Willows Neighborhood Complete Streets Study, the Laurel Safe Routes to School Study (including a Coleman Avenue study), and the Middlefield Road and Linfield Crosswalk improvements. Given the continued challenges our kids face daily trying to get to school safely, it is critical that these projects move forward in a timely manner. I currently have a first grader at Laurel who bikes to school and I am daily reminded of the unsafe biking conditions along Coleman Avenue.
As a mother of school age children who bike to school and as a member of our community thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Suzanne Yonkers
