Dear Mayor and Council,
Thank you for your thoughtful discussion and adoption last week of a reasonable ordinance providing relocation assistance to those
truly in need. Moving forward with an innovative public fund to further provide assistance to those truly on the verge of
homelessness is something I support.
As a REALTORĀ®, I understand the value housing stability creates in our community. I want to encourage you to keep the initial fund
simple and focused on those who will be most affected in our community. With expanded triggers and a lower threshold, we have an
opportunity to find out who actually is vulnerable and to what extent this issue exists in our community.
Please keep the fund focused, and allow the initial city contribution to serve as an opportunity to collect data, help those most
in need, which gives staff and the council an opportunity to come back after a period of time and consider any changes or ongoing
funding that may be necessary.
Thank you,
Chris Isaacson
