Comment regarding Items L2 - rezoning 687 Bay Rd

City Council,

I would like to submit a comment regarding the proposed rezoning of 687 Bay Road. This parcel has split zoning with the current parking lot zoned as R1U. My family lives at 1010 Hollyburne Ave and our home directly faces the parking lot. I attended the Planning Commission meeting on 1/8 to voice my opposition to changing the current zoning from R1U to CMU. I was glad the Commission voted 5-0 to recommend that the City Council not adopt the zoning changes. I hope the City Council will follow the Commissions recommendations.

I strongly oppose the zoning changes and would prefer the zoning to stay as is. Its important to our neighbors to maintain the Flood Park family friendly character of Hollyburne Ave and Windermere Ave. That neighborhood feel is why we bought this home in Menlo Park. Currently both streets are very residential and changing the zoning of the parking lot, which faces the middle of Hollyburne street and not Bay road, will impact the traffic, parking, privacy and noise.

Please include the current residents and communitys input and feedback in this decision. We would like to have a say in changes that will directly impact our families. Also, please continue to include resident input on any future changes to 687 Bay or 695 Bay. Thank you for the opportunity to provide feedback.
