Dear City Council, In viewing the project plan briefly online, I notice that the benefits of are outweighed by the negatives in the Middle Plaza proposal. Before we as a city approve this plan, please consider adding the following items: - Stanford to open access to Alma Street at the Sand Hill intersection by the Stanford Shopping Center which will greatly alleviate the already disfunctional traffic we residents currently experience; - Post "No Left/U Turn" at Cambridge on Northbound ECR; - Enable auto/bicycle/pedestrian access across the train tracks to Alma/Burgess via Middle Avenue intersection; - Add more parking to the "plaza" area, the site plan doesn't seem to have enough parking for the proposed functionality of the plaza area, and I doubt we will be able to park in the residential undergroud parking. The plan also states that the plaza is "close to parking..." - where is this? Certainly not the horrible inaccessibe Safeway parking lot that is already packed all the time?!? - Negotiate fair tax payments for MP - the current negotiation of $100K/year is no where near enough for the massive impact this development will have As much as I would like to see the car lots torn down and beautified, we have serious infrastructure issues along ECR that need to be properly addressed before we develop anything. Stanford does NOT care about Menlo Park, nor it's residents. I was born and raised here, and am currently raising my children here as well. The traffic and development is horrendous and sadly it's no longer the sweet town it used to be. We still love MP, but the schools cannot take more children, our roads cannot take more traffic and our homes need to be protected.
