Dear Menlo Park City Council members,
I'm connecting with you again today to voice my continued support for the Environmental Quality Commission's recent recommendations about building electrification. The report accurately reflects the steps needed to electrify Menlo Park's many commercial
buildings and phase out residential gas appliances through an equitable plan. These actions are beyond critical right now. We have no time to waste, as the recent, dire IPCC report fully explained! By supporting these electrification policies, you will demonstrate
to the world what a sane response to this climate crisis looks like.
Please accept the EQC's thoughtful recommendations at your next city council meeting, so that Menlo Park can continue to be a true leader in our world's effort to fight climate change. Our citizens have the interest and drive, not to mention the intelligence
and savvy, to be examples for other cities, counties and states. Thank you for listening to my concerns. I'm deeply grateful for all that you're doing to make Menlo Park a better place to live for me today and for my grandchildren some day in the future.
