Hello,
My name is Caleb Ringkob and I have been a Menlo Park resident for 2.5 years now. I am reaching out regarding the challenges that myself as well as many other Menlo Park residents face with parking in front of our own homes. Many households require the use of multiple vehicles and multiple incomes to live sustainably within Menlo Park. I would like to request an audience to discuss allowing the purchase of monthly overnight permits to continue that is currently slated to end on July 1. I, as well as my neighbors (and Im sure many others), have found the monthly permits to be a good solution for three reasons:
1. It allows the multi-vehicle households of the community to legally park on the street in front of their own homes.
2. It provides extra revenue for the city of Menlo Park through the purchase of these monthly permits.
3. By requiring proof of residency, these permits still uphold the 1963 ordinances primary objective of ensuring parked vehicles belong to the citys residents.
I am happy to get a petition started because this impacts many members of the community. Please let me know what the next steps would be to gain an audience.
