As a resident of Sharon Heights for over 60 years it has been distressing to learn that there have recently been several break-ins and burglaries in our neighborhood.
I strongly support the councils investigation this week of Item H1 regarding the possible use of License Plate Readers. The issue of lack of privacy if LPRs are used has apparently been raised. We all value our privacy. However, although it has not happened yet, the possibility of physical harm happening to a resident during a break-in is very real and very worrisome.
To me, safety of residents should take precedence in this case over the possible lack of privacy. I hope you will consider this point of view when studying Item H1.
Thank you.
