I am writing in support of reopening both Burgess and Belle Haven Pools. Tim Sheeper has a well thought out plan for safely reopening both pools allowing for social distancing and safe swimming. Swimming is a healthy alternative for all of us especially older adults who participate in lap swim. In time I hope that we can find ways to resume recreation swimming as well. As a Menlo Park resident I and my family have enjoyed swimming at Burgess pool for more than 40 years. I understand the challenges the City is facing at this time. Please trust that reopening both Burgess and Belle Haven pools will be managed in a manner consistent with our community goals.
