I understand that the NREL has created software (SolarApp+) and the state has passed a law (SB379) requiring every city to implement something similar to reduce the roof solar permitting process by September 2023 for cities greater than 50,000 and September 2024 for smaller cities. I also understand that Menlo Park has not implemented such a reduced and simplified process and has not been responsive to outreach regarding this nor has MP applied for a grant of up to $40,000 for implementation of the state requirement. With MPs agenda to reduce our carbon footprint and desire to electrify our city to reduce fossil fuel dependency, I dont understand why MP would not be moving to implement such a program to encourage and reduce the time and cost of residents installing roof solar.
