Please do not pass pass the resolution on city speed limits unless Olive St is added to the list of streets that should change to 25mph. Olive St is a major thoroughfare for Hillview kids on bike and foot, and it’s very dangerous for students on Olive St, where cars drive quickly and there are inconsistent bike lanes and missing rights-of-ways. The Hillview website labels Olive St as a suggested bike and walking route for students; please treat the street accordingly with a 25mph limit. Additionally with the eventual opening of Stanford Medical Office Buildings on ECR/Middle we are at risk of Olive and a few other connecting streets becoming traffic thoroughfares to 280 and Olive at 25 mph sets the expectation that it is a residential street and safe bike path for Hillview students.
