Dear Honorable Council Members:
I have clients who live and work here and also own investment properties in our community. I am not an owner of investment property myself but have a clear understanding of what motivates people to invest in income properties. When government places too many restrictions on the rights of property owners, it is a manipulation of the free market. Clear and simple, this is not a good thing.
Before you adopt legislation that will most negatively impact investors in our community, I hope you will dedicate more time to researching the long term ramifications of any form of rent control.
