Sending traffic to Bay Road

Regarding the informational item N2. The county and complete streets is proposing a pilot option to close Coleman Ave where the county and city lines meet. The proposal says the traffic will go to Bay Road or Willow to reach Ringwood Ave. Bay Road is overwhelmed with morning traffic now. There is a neighborhood here that must use Bay Road to go anywhere. Bay Road has bikes and pedestrians just as Coleman does. Kids need to cross Bay Road to catch the school bus. The proposal will send traffic through the Menlo Oaks neighborhood to reach Coleman and Ringwood. Peninsula school is located in the Menlo Oaks neighborhood. Kids that live in Menlo Oaks and kids that cross Bay Road are using Menlo Oaks streets to get to Peninsula School, upper Laurel, Laurel, MA and the bus stop on Ringwood.
Closing streets just sends traffic to other streets and neighborhoods. Preventing a right turn on Gilbert and Nash at commute time sends more traffic down Coleman. When streets are open traffic flows better. This pilot program should not happen. The closure causes problems on other streets.
