I understand that the council is possibly looking to open up Santa Cruz Avenue to traffic where it is currently closed. This would include the area in front of Left Bank, Bistro Vida and Galata Cafe.
I am very much against this. It has been wonderful to have the outdoor room to each outside without being crowded into limited space give only to the parking space outdoor areas. This is critically important to safety considerations during the pandemic as well as enhanced enjoyment of downtown.
As a long time business owner in downtown, I would recommend making the street closures permanent. But certainly in a pandemic it is not the time to reduce outdoor seating!
