To the Menlo Park City Council, I am a resident of Menlo Park would like to voice my STRONG support of the local Independent Re/districting Commission. An Independent commission will lead to stronger democracy and better governance. It will ensure the city is accountable to all members of our community. Menlo Park citizens will be able to be proud to live in a city that is treating citizens fairly and being a positive example for other cities in California and around the county. I would like to be at the meeting tonight to show my support, but I have another engagement that cannot be changed. Therefore, I am writing to urge you to adopt a resolution to institute an Independent Re/districting Commission. I am happy to participate in this commission if you need volunteers.
